MSc Validation Complete

Manchester based NCC Education and the University of Portsmouth, UK are pleased to announce that their eagerly awaited Masters degree programme has been awarded full validation.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business IT has been running since September 2001. The recently awarded full validation enables students who have completed the Postgraduate element of the programme to enrol on the MSc top-up programme.
The MSc programme consists of two major qualifications – the NCC Education awarded Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business IT and the University of Portsmouth awarded Masters Degree in Strategic Business IT.
Students must first complete the 12-month Postgraduate Diploma course, either at an NCC Education Accredited Partner centre or online. On successful completion of this course students can enrol onto the top-up Masters degree course, which is studied for online directly with the University of Portsmouth.
Commenting on the validation process Dave Snow, NCC Education’s Director of Qualifications commented: “The UK postgraduate qualifications industry is closely regulated and NCC Education were required to pass a detailed quality assessment process in order to be awarded full validation.”
This Masters degree programme recognises that IT graduates and professionals require a course which provides them with high-level business management skills, but which also recognises the role of IT professionals within an organisation.
Students will be taught to understand how business strategy affects commercial organisations, and how to adopt a strategic approach to the implementation of IT.
Andrew Rennie, the Business Manager responsible for the qualification said: "We have been working very closely with the University of Portsmouth for over a year to ensure that this programme meets the needs of employers and the students. We are now confident that it teaches the skills required to be successful in strategic business IT.”
